CIO America Latina announced the winner of a new and prestigious program of worldwide prizes that recognize and support entrepreneurs that generate innovations in the IT industry, highlighting the impact that those innovations have on Latin America.

The winner received the CIO America Latina’s WW IT Visionary 2011 Prize in a private ceremony that took place in the Faena Hotel, in the city of Buenos Aires.

The winner was selected after a search was carried out to find the new visionaries from the technology sector. Candidates from all over the world, that had positively impacted their clients and the profitability of Latin American organizations with their revolutionary innovations, were considered.

The finalists were selected by the management team of CIO America Latina, and the winner was chosen by a panel of ten CIO members from the region.

The winner of CIO America Latina’s WW IT Visionary 2011 Prize is Alex Konanykhin, KMGi’s CEO, www.konanykhin.com was born in Russia and had a fascinating life. At 23 years old he founded the Russian Exchange Bank and a finance and construction empire valued at more than $300 millions, becoming one of the richest men of post-communist Russia.

When living in the United States he created KMGi, an international and acclaimed production studio recognized by major publications, like Forbes and CNNfn, as the “future of Internet”, because of its cutting edge technology innovative implementations.

He was the winner of Businessman of the Year’s Prize, given by the Washington Post, and has now won the IT Worldwide Visionary 2011 prize because of the impact that his company is making on Latin America, improving corporate communications to help our region be less marginalized in the world of global business.
